I'm writing in regard to our Bellingham Central Lions Charity Golf Tourney & Raffle that will be held Thursday, June 24 this year at the Bellingham Golf & Country Club. Our tournament last year about the same time of year at this beautiful location was most successful and enjoyed by one and all. We look forward to providing an even better experience for participants this year and in the process, providing an even greater opportunity to our sponsor to associate your organization with the Bellingham Central Lions Club and the many positive ways that we serve the residents of Bellingham and Whatcom County.

As you may already know, Bellingham Central Lions provide eyeglasses, hearing aids, sight and hearing tests to the needy in our community. As well, we provide wheel chairs and other durable medical equipment through our Wheel Chair Warehouse project. We provide funds and service to worthwhile organizations in our community including the Lighthouse Mission, Agape Home, Lydia Place, Salvation Army and Bellingham Food Bank. Through funds raised by operating the concession stand at Civic Field, we have supported Bellingham, Ferndale and Blaine school district projects ranging from weight room equipment to portable heart defibrillators. We sponsor the annual Christmas Ship that brings the spirit of Christmas to the children of the San Juan and Gulf Islands. We give annually to support Middle School aged children who want to learn more about our local marine environment by participating in school-organized trips on the Snow Goose. We also participate in Camp Horizon held in Birch Bay for developmentally disabled persons each summer along with other Lions clubs in our multiple district.
