I'm writing in regard to our Bellingham Central Lions Charity Golf Tourney & Raffle that will be held Thursday, June 23, this year at the Bellingham Golf & Country Club. Our tournament last year about the same time at this beautiful location was most successful and enjoyed by one and all. We look forward to providing an even better experience for participants this year and in the process, affording an even greater opportunity to our sponsors to associate your organizations with the Bellingham Central Lions Club and the many positive ways that we serve the residents of Bellingham, Whatcom County and Skagit County.

As you may already know, Bellingham Central Lions provide eyeglasses, hearing aids and sight and hearing tests to the needy in our community. As well, we provide wheelchairs and other durable medical equipment through our Wheelchair Warehouse project. We provide funds and service to worthwhile organizations in our community including the Whatcom Hospice Foundation, Lighthouse Mission Ministries, Lydia Place, Salvation Army and Bellingham Boys & Girls Club. Through funds raised by operating the concession stand at Civic Field and this event, we have supported Bellingham, Ferndale and Blaine school district projects ranging from weight room equipment to portable heart defibrillators. We provide scholarships to graduating seniors from Bellingham School District in support of "Dollars for Scholars". We sponsor the annual Christmas Ship that brings the spirit of Christmas to the children of the San Juan and Gulf Islands. We also participate in Camp Horizon held in Birch Bay for developmentally disabled persons each summer along with other Lions clubs in our multiple district.

We recognized your contribution in an advertisement placed in the Bellingham Herald on Thanksgiving Day 2010 and our website www.bellinghamcentallions.org and hope your business experienced a positive response from this! This year we are encouraging formation of corporate teams made up of your employees, suppliers and customers as well as other corporate sponsorship options as outlined on the attached page. We hope that we can count on your support for our upcoming event and will personally be in touch with you to discuss specific possibilities in the very near future. In the meantime, please review the enclosed documents to determine how you might be willing to align your business to support us in our endeavors this year as we fundraise to serve our community in these continuing difficult financial times.
